Hi everyone its Deanna Kangas here, Director of Voicehouse and this week’s tip of the week is how to breathe easier when you sing.

Now breathing is such a big topic when it comes to singing and its so important because breathing = life!

We all know that if you’ve been singing before anywhere, in the car or the shower and you run out of breath, all of a sudden you run out of sound too, there’s just nowhere to go.

So my #1 tip for breathing easier when you’re singing is to take a few seconds to stop before you even start your practice session or before you even sing a song and just settle down into your body, relax and let go of all of the stress before you start to sing.

We find that most of the singers that come to Voicehouse, especially in between or after work, are usually super stressed and that’s the number 1 thing that stops them from being able to breathe properly when they sing.

To take a few minutes to yourself, reset, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and after that you should be good to go.

So that’s this week’s tip of the week.
